Bear Making Parties

Bear making parties are the latest must have entertainment for kids who want to have fun!

At Be My Bear we offer a complete range of bear making parties from traditional teds to bunnies, tigers and pups.

The idea of our bear making parties is to offer a creative hands-on activity interspersed with some great traditional party games without the expense of goody bags because every child gets to take home the new best friend they have made.

Bear making parties traditionally start with a teddy bear treasure hunt with the children following a trail of crepe paper twists to where the bears are hidden. If you are holding the party at home or in a community hall, use the garden or grassy area to make it more realistic. You could even decorate the venue with branches and foliage to create a “down to the woods today” theme! To avoid squabbles, it is probably a good idea to opt for the same animal for each child attending the bear making parties unless you make it part of the game and each one draws lots to decide on who makes what.

Once the children have burnt off their energy, the serious part of the bear making parties begins – the magic of bringing the bears to life!

Every child is given a pre-sewn bearskin and stuffing, and they then begin by filling the teddy bears’ paws, limbs and head. Before they complete the stuffing of the bears, they “wish upon a star” and place a satin star shaped charm inside ted. Once they have done the “huggability” test and are happy with ted’s filling, they zip up their furry pal with a one-way zipper closure to keep them and ted safe and sound.

There are many suggestions for structuring our bear making parties. We supply a host of ideas for bear-related games such as pinning the nose on the bear, bears’ footsteps and sleeping bears as well as traditional party games such as pass the parcel but with a teddy twist! The children enjoy choosing a name for their bear and filling in their birth certificates and also the extra options such as designing a T-shirt for their teddy or making a jacket and bag decorated with flowers.

We suggest that the bear making parties end with a teddy bears’ picnic. You can really go to town on this. The children can take their bears into tea with them and we supply a range of party tableware with a teddy theme to complete a perfect day.

Bear making parties are growing in popularity and Be My Bear are leading the way in finding new and exciting add-ons to make ours the best on the block – whether you choose a DIY party kit or book one of our party organisers we know you’ll have a beary happy birthday!

Party Tips

Pass the parcel
Pass the parcel is always a good traditional game. Try adding sweets or a forfeit between each layer. NB: children tend to get bored if there are too many in the circle, so allow for either two circles or two parcels going around the circle in different directions. ...
